HOW IT WAS MADE - DOLL HEAD RESIN:

Fern is an original art doll project that explores the balance between delicate charm and subtle eeriness.
The project is currently available as a collectible BJD doll head, developed through a complete production process including 3D modeling, resin production, doll face-up, wig making, packaging design, and brand identity, resulting in a cohesive and carefully crafted doll experience.

Step 1: Design And Sculpt

The most challenging part of sculpting lies in precision. Technical parameters such as head circumference, eye size, and neck measurements must be carefully calculated to ensure proper fit and functionality. In addition, a 3D model often feels very different on screen compared to the final printed piece, requiring continuous adjustments throughout the process. Certain details are intentionally sculpted deeper than originally planned to allow for cleaner, more expressive face-up work in the final product.

Step 2: Rapid Prototyping & Sculpt Adjustments

A test print was completed using UV-resistant resin. After printing, the head was sanded smooth. Upon review, several areas required adjustment: the nasal wings were too small and appeared unnatural, and the nose bridge was too high. Below is the before and after adjustment process.
